Licensing Policies

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador regulates the practice of medicine in the public interest by direction of the Medical Act, 2011 and the Medical Regulations, 2023, ensuring that physicians registered and licensed in the province have the necessary education, training, and experience.

All physicians who practice medicine in Newfoundland and Labrador must be registered and licensed with the College.

The licensing policies below outline the minimum requirements of the College. All physicians licensed within the province are expected to comply with all College policies.
