Selection Process
Program participants are selected at random. Following selection, the depth of review is determined based on an assessment of a number of factors that correlate with quality of practice.
Research indicates that there are several factors that affect physician performance across a variety of contexts. Statistically, some factors are likely to negatively impact performance, while others are known to be protective of practice quality. Analysis of these factors will help determine the depth of review for some participants. Some program participants will also be randomly selected for the different types of review. Using an evidence-informed approach to the peer review process ensures that physicians are routed to tailored interactions with the College, proportionate to their learning needs.
