Learners seeking to obtain a licence for Postgraduate On-Call Duties are required to provide the following to determine eligibility:

• PGME request form – can be found on the PGME website.
• MCCQE1 – evidence of your successful completion of the MCCQE1 (Statement of Results & Supplemental Information Report).
• Professional Liability Coverage – evidence of CMPA coverage in code 14 (Statement of Protection).
• Pre-Licensure Courses and Readings – a list of required and recommended online courses as well as a list of recommended material for review to use as a resource in the practice of medicine will be provided.
• Providing Culturally Safe Health Care for Indigenous Patients – certificate of completion for the “Providing Culturally Safe Health Care for Indigenous Patients”

Learners seeking to obtain a licence for a Provisional Postgraduate Locum (Final Year Locum), are required to provide the following to determine eligibility:

• PGME request form – can be found on the PGME website.
• Confirmation of Sponsorship – NL Health Services is required to provide CPSNL with a completed Sponsorship Form.
• MCCQE1 – evidence of successful completion of the MCCQE1 (Statement of Results & Supplemental Information Report).
• RCPSC – evidence of your Royal College eligibility or Royal College certification/evidence of successful completion.
• Professional Liability Coverage – evidence of CMPA coverage in code 14 (Statement of Protection).
• Pre-Licensure Courses and Readings – a list of required and recommended online courses as well as a list of recommended material for review to use as a resource in the practice of medicine will be provided.
• Providing Culturally Safe Health Care for Indigenous Patients – certificate of completion for the “Providing Culturally Safe Health Care for Indigenous Patients”
• Payment of Fees – payment of application licence fee (fee schedule)

Learners who are nearing completion of their Postgraduate Residency Program and require a license to practice in NL are required to provide the following information:

• Completed application (physiciansapply.ca)
• Credentials documentation
  • LMCC or accepted alternative: Examinations Required and Approved by Council
  • CCFP (certification or confirmation of eligibility – if unsuccessful); or
  • RCPSC – certification or confirmation of eligibility – including years of eligibility (if unsuccessful)
  • criminal record check and vulnerable sector check
  • current government issued identification, that includes a photograph
  • certificate(s) of professional conduct (CPC’s) – jurisdictions outside of NL
  • confirmation of residency completion
  • reference(s)
  • CPSNL may request other items as determined through application review

**Required documentation previously submitted will not require re-submission, unless considered expired (i.e Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check, etc.)

**Required forms and specific credentials documentation criteria will be provided to the Learner by CPSNL upon receipt of a completed application
