Professional Conduct

The College professional conduct process deals with complaints about doctors’ unprofessional conduct, medical skill, or knowledge.

If you are concerned about the medical care that a doctor has provided, almost always, your best first step is to speak to the doctor directly about your concern or contact the patient advocate at the hospital where you were treated. If you do not wish to do so, or if talking does not resolve matters, the College’s Professional Conduct Coordinator can suggest the next steps – including filing a complaint about the doctor.

If you have questions or would like to learn more, contact the College’s Professional Conduct Coordinator at 709-778-4280 or by email, complaints@cpsnl.ca for further assistance.
