Full Licence Requirements – Direct Entry: Family Medicine Practice
- A degree from a World Directory of Medical Schools recognized university or school of medicine
- One of the following:
- College of Family Physicians of Canada Certification (CCFP), or Collège des Médecins du Québec (CMQ) certification;
- Successfully completed a postgraduate training program in Family Medicine the United States of America and holds current certification with the American Board of Family Medicine, or the American Osteopathic Association Board as outlined in policy; or
- Successfully completed a postgraduate training program in Family Medicine Practice in an approved jurisdiction and holds certification in Family Medicine Practice, satisfactory to the College, in an approved jurisdiction as outlined in policy.
- Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC) or acceptable alternative (if applicable)
- Currency of Practice
- English Language Proficiency
- Good Character – all or some of the following may be required:
- Up to 3 References
- Criminal Record Check
- Certificate(s) of Professional Conduct from each Jurisdiction a Licence has been held in the previous 10 years
- Disciplinary and background questionnaire
- Government issued photo identification
- Evidence of Professional Liability Coverage for Newfoundland and Labrador
